Description

Come learn about, and participate in, VEJ's Hope Park Neighborhood Land Use and Vision Project. The Hope Park Neighborhood Land Use and Vision project asks, enables, and equips residents of Detroit's Hope Park neighborhood to imagine and plan their own sustainable future. This project is three years in the making and possible because of a grant from The Kresge Foundation. Detroit community organizer Roslyn Ogburn will host this Sunday Dinner along with neighborhood design professionals from the Detroit Collaborative Design Center and Michigan Community Resources. Expect a brief presentation on the Hope Park Project followed by lots of conversation and discussion about what is important to Hope Park residents now and in the future. For Hope Park residents, this Sunday Dinner will be the perfect chance to get involved in the Hope Park Project and make their voices heard. For non-residents, this will be an excellent opportunity to see what community organizing and neighborhood placemaking looks like "in real life." This will be our first in-person Sunday Dinner since the pandemic began. Health and safety rules will be in place, but we are excited to see everyone back at Hope House & Garden again on July 11. Prayer, education, and action for Earth.
