There's not much more you could want out of a San Diego weekend! So it's the time of year when we celebrate good ol' dad. You might want to toast the fellow. You might want to do so while watching the starry event. Or while joining a full house of fans to cheer on the Padres. Or how about while bowling, seeing a play or an art show or showing puppies and kitties some love? Note: Some of the following are very dad specific. But some are just fun for everyone (like for grads too if you got one): Dad a weekend duffer? One of the PGA Tour's biggest events, the U.S. Open, continues at the Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla through Sunday. Raise a glass to his faves over a meal – how about "Boeuf and Beers" for $35 at the French eatery Bleu Bohémein Kensington on Friday and Saturday or at a Puesto location on Sunday, where the taqueria will treat dad to a free pint of house brew?One of the highlights of the return to full capacity at Petco Park – events like Party at the Park are back too. For two hours prior to the Padres' 7:10 p.m. game Friday, enjoy drink specials and live entertainment with dad. And then a few innings against the Reds. There'll be special events on Sunday for Father's Day as well.Arts Alive at the San Diego Museum of Art in Balboa Park opens at 10 a.m. Friday as organizers celebrate the event's 40th anniversary through the weekend. See more than 100 floral interpretations of paintings and other art, while enjoying family-friendly crafts, a marketplace and tasty bites too. Admission starts at $25, but tickets for youngsters range from free to $5.Deft Brewing in Morena hosts "Brews, Barks and Mews 4" at 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in partnership with Lost Cause Meadery and Cucina Caprese. There will be live music, event beers, pet vendors and more, all to benefit the San Diego Humane Society.Dad – or granddad – might prefer a play, as in-person theater returns. Try the '60s pop-music romp Beehive, presented as part of the outdoor collaboration between the New Village Arts Theatre and the Flower Fields in Carlsbad. There are evening shows at the Fields Friday and Saturday and a 2 p.m. matinee Sunday. Tickets start at $28.Solea Pfeiffer, who performed in the Old Globe's Almost Famous and the Hamilton tour, takes the stage for a cabaret show at the Lowell Davies Festival Theatre in Balboa Park. Tickets for the shows, at 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, start at $29.Finally – does dad prefer to play? Head to Punch Bowl Social in the East Village Sunday, when dad gets one chance – one shot! – to bowl a strike. If he nails it, his entrée's on the house.
