Press release from the City of Syracuse: June 17, 2021 Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh announced that downtown road reconstruction will expand to additional streets beginning Monday, June 21. Crews will begin milling and paving Monday on Clinton Street from W. Genesee Street to Jefferson Street. Additional streets to be milled and paved this summer and fall are: S. Warren Street, from Erie Boulevard E. to S. Salina Street; Jefferson Street, from South Clinton Street to Montgomery Street; and Montgomery Street, from Erie Boulevard to East Adams Street. The work also includes areas of full depth pavement repair, sections of granite curb replacement or reset, Americans with Disabilities Act curb ramp reconstruction, utility adjustments to finish grade, traffic signal detector loop replacement, sign replacements, and new pavement markings. Construction will be phased and the intent is to maintain traffic. When necessary, additional notices will be issued as construction progresses. The City is advising the public to expect delays especially during peak hours and to use alternate routes if possible. Construction is anticipated to be complete by late December 2021.
