About COAT LENGTH Wire HOUSE-TRAINED Yes HEALTH Vaccinations up to date, spayed / neutered. GOOD IN A HOME WITH Children. PREFERS A HOME WITHOUT Other dogs, cats. Snoopy is an interesting mix – possibly Terrier/Shepherd mix or a Berger Picard/Sheepdog mix. He weighs 65 lbs, is neutered, and is four years old. He has a wiry salt and pepper coat. Snoopy is a loving pup with an amazing smile, adorable wiry fur, and a goofy personality! He is extremely polite at home— potty trained, doesn't bark very often, will only jump on the furniture when invited up for a cuddle, and he's great on the leash— although he does get a little nervous when dogs pass by too closely. Hence, it's best to avoid head-on encounters when walking on a leash. He does great at the dog park and gets along with everyone. He loves his squeaky toys, clumsily chasing a ball around, and a good game of tug-of-war. He also loves to be brushed and scratched and will nudge your hands when he wants a pet. He can be a bit of a picky eater, but he is usually food motivated once he finds a treat he really loves. He listens very well— but he understands only Spanish! If you don't speak Spanish, be prepared to learn a little — here are some commands he knows well when said in Spanish: Siéntate — Sit Ven aquí — Come here Arriba — Up Abajo — Down Echado — Lie down Vamos — Let's go Quieto — Stay Mira / Mirame— Look / Look at me No comas — don't eat that Silencio — Quiet He is a smart boy and needs a lot of mental stimulation. An apartment is not the best environment for him, as he was likely a working dog and gets anxious without a clear job to do. He has strong herding instincts, so he would do best in an environment where he can herd sheep or patrol a large yard and protect it from birds and bunnies. He has shown tendencies to herd children and visitors inside the home— he is friendly toward them but will watch their feet closely when they walk around inside and nip their heels. He would be happiest in a calm household with a large yard, without small children, without other dogs (he has a tendency to resource guard some of his favorite toys and treats), and with just a couple of people to bond with and give him all the love he deserves. He really has a heart of gold and deserves someone dedicated to helping him thrive in his new environment.
