If you enjoy being outdoors and are looking to work close to the land, this might be the perfect job for you. Penderlea Farms is an up-and-coming tree farm in Burgaw, North Carolina. All of our oaks are grown in North Carolina soil, and our acorns are harvested from some of the most famous trees in the area. We pride ourselves on being at the forefront of best practices in the industry and are looking for a committed, hard-working, individual to join our team at the ground level. Some of the day to day duties on the farm include: - Planting, transplanting, pruning, and caring for trees - Working in our greenhouse with acorns and seedlings - Mowing, weed-eating, and land clearing to maintain property - Up-keeping various irrigation systems - Maintaining the health of wooded areas The right person for this position is motivated, able to complete tasks alone OR work well in a team, change directions based on farm needs, and an excellent communicator. Should have some experience w/ farm equipment, such as bush hogs, tractors, excavators, skid steers, chainsaws, and all attachments. Must have reliable transportation and be able to consistently show up to work on time. Attention to detail and taking pride in one’s work is a must. Please send a resume to be considered.
