Local cat rescuer accused of "holding cats hostage"

I am an independent cat rescuer in the Glenwood neighborhood of Eugene, where cats are dumped on a daily basis and there are tons of stray/feral colonies. I post pics of the cats I catch, post ads, make flyers, etc. My due diligence as a rescuer. I have been in contact with the owner of a missing cat who alerted me that someone emailed him saying I'm just a crazy cat lady holding people's cats hostage. This person doing the emailing obviously has no idea of the situation, and is free to speak to me if they'd like to clear anything up. My greatest wish is to reunite a missing cat with their owner, but we rescuers are also very busy and if a cat's markings/age/etc are not consistent with those of a missing cat then that is just how it goes. If I had any inkling a cat in my possession was someone's missing baby, I'd get ahold of them immediately, and anyone who works with me in rescue knows this. Instead of making blind accusations, and messing with people whose pets are missing, why don't you reach out to me with your concerns. Here I am!
