We are looking for a multi-faceted individual that is not only reliable but good with kids, animals and working as a part of a team. The custodian/caretaker job here at PlayThinks is one that requires many responsibilities and more than one role. These responsibilities include (but are not limited to): - Care of animals including rabbits, birds, turtles, and fish. - Maintaining the cleanliness of PlayThinks by taking out trash, picking up after children, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping, etc. - Maintenance tasks such as: changing light bulbs and smoke detector batteries, replacing outlet covers, screen repairs, etc. - Look after kids for short amounts of time. - Assist office in keeping PlayThinks orderly. The skills required to be effective at the position include: - Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures - Ability to stand, walk, and bend for many hours - Ability to perform repetitive motion for long periods of time - Experience with using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, and cleaning solutions - Background in handling, mixing, and using cleaning chemicals - Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules - Communication skills - Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders and work at particular heights
