Guitarist Seeking Like Minded Noisemakers to Play/Record

I moved to the city two months ago and have become interested in playing with others. Problem is that I have no network of musicians here. I mostly want to play and record with other like minded multi-instrumentalists. I've long wanted to do something as thoughtful and emotions as Explosions In The Sky (You don't always need a vocalist for your music to speak) or potentially including well executed vocal harmonies/loops (à la Daniel Rossen), and a guitar tone so reverberated that it'll generally take you out with the tide. Ambient, soundscapes, drone, shoegaze, post-rock--whatever. I'm not committed to any of the above styles that i mentioned, though. Mostly I'd like to get people together to see what the collective comes up with. For my own guitar playing I take a more synthetic approach with fifteen pedals, I like exploring sonic and tonal possiblities (not one to keep my dials set at the same positions on my guitar, amp, pedals and synthesizer) I'm especially interested in playing with bassists who play standup and electric, anyone with a Fender Rhodes, and percussionists who aren't afraid to use mallets, brushes, and any accessory needed to get the job done.
