Media Blasters/Industrial Painters Do you enjoy fast paced environments and multi-level projects? Our client is looking for talented people to work as Media Blasters / Industrial Painters. This position requires a person with proactive problem solving, decision-making skills, and an initiative to work independently in a detail-oriented environment. The basic functions of the Media Blaster / Industrial Painter are to ensure projects are delivered successfully and on time. You will be performing routine client maintenance and repairs on customer premises as described per jobs requested by the customer. Performance of building maintenance and repairs in one or more fields (e.g., Steel Blasting, Steel Coatings,). Media Blasters/Industrial Painters Education and Experience: Minimum 2 years Media Blasting Steel Experience, or related field experience is preferred Minimum 2 years Painting Experience, or related field experience is preferred Media Blasters/Industrial Painters Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Strong budget development and oversight skills Mechanical knowledge of Basting/Painting Equipment Knowledge of local quality, safety, and health guidelines for construction job sites Must have knowledge of metals, abrasive blasting, industrial coatings Organizational and time-management skills Ability to lead and inspire Customer Service Skills REQUIREMENTS: The physical requirements are moderate to extreme. Body movements include walking, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, hands and fingers. Because of the travel involved, you must have a valid driver license. Pass pre-employment drug screening and background check Ability to travel. Jobs are usually 10-14 days Customer Service Oriented Must be able to comprehend and perform basic construction mathematical calculations. Must be able to lift 100 pounds Must be able to work for long periods of time WORKING CONDITIONS The normal workday varies with specific job requirements. You may be required to work overnight and long hours in order to complete work in a timely fashion and on budget. You will be driving to and from job sites located in and around Kalispell. A FEW ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Abrade surfaces of metal or hard-composition objects to remove adhering scale and dirt, and to impart specified finish, using abrasive-blasting equipment Mask specified areas to protect from abrading/painting action. Regulate machinery Utilize scrapers, grinders and hand tools to remove paint and prepare unsuitable areas for finishing. Maintain set quality standards by use of visual checking and inspection equipment. Utilize painting systems to apply a uniform coat with a variety of industrial coatings to obtain the required coverage and dry film thickness as specified. Utilize a wet/dry millage gauge to ensure proper thickness & must record those readings on established documentation. Utilize measuring equipment to maintain proper paint viscosity when mixing 2-part coatings and adding thinner. Additional Compensation and Benefits: Compensation varies by experience.
