Description

Improved health...relaxation...clear mind...increased flexibility and physical balance...longevity... Taijiquan (Tai Chi), sometimes described as “a moving meditation,” is a healing/martial art which can be used as a gentle way to stay young and healthy. The practice has many health benefits and is good for all ages. In fact, it can be something a parent and child learn together in class and practice at home. While there are many styles of Tai Chi, there are four major Beijing styles which Rick practices: Yang, Sun, Wu and Chen. Each style (family) is rewarding to learn, contains martial applications, is beautiful to watch, and improves one's mind and body. This class will primarily focus on its health and healing aspects, the self-defense secondary. Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes or sneakers. No flip flops. Rick has been studying Taijiquan and Qigong for over 20 years, teaching for more than six years and, to complement his practice, studying Mandarin Chinese for several years. Rick has been a meditator for over 30 years and also practices Ashtanga yoga. He lived and worked at the Lancaster Ayurveda Health Center in Massachusetts from 2007 until 2012. There he learned to prepare medicinal herbs as well as to give Panchakarma (cleansing rejuvenation treatments) to guests. Rick continues to explore other areas of alternative healing
