Mechanical Roots, Classless Act & WHIT3 COLLR The Wayfarer Presents 21+ Mechanical Roots & Classless Act w/ WHIT3 COLLR at The Wayfarer Mechanical Roots is bringing heavy-hitting, melodic alternative rock music back to the forefront of the Southern California music scene and beyond. The four-piece, Los Angeles-based band has been busy honing in their explosive sound since 2016, when they began mesmerizing audiences at iconic clubs, like The Viper Room, The Satellite, and Hotel Cafe. The group, led by lead singer-songwriter-guitarist Kev O’Brien, started turning heads with debut EP, Who We Are, followed by a string of addictive singles, leading the charge for their debut full-length album, Playing with Fire, dropping December 17, 2020. BuzzMusic described Mechanical Roots’ 21st century blend of grunge and hard rock, with an emphasis on musical craftsmanship, as “perfectly grimy,” while praising 2020 release Broken Record as a track “any listener would be able to enjoy.” “Hard-hitting execution is an understatement for the musical offerings of Mechanical Roots,” the popular music blog wrote in 2019 while sharing the Day Dream music video. “The band knows how to intertwine various musical elements, such as contemporary rock with post-alternative rock, and they do it with such ease.” Another blog, For the Love of Bands, praised the same single for “brilliantly” infusing “slamming guitar riffs, diverse vocals and intense percussion,” perfectly mixing “key elements of a classic alt-rock song.” Kev’s soulful voice and virtuoso guitar licks are backed by longtime drummer Patricia Teles, and they recently welcome bassist Nick Dioriio and guitarist Michael O’Grady into the fold to complete the line-up of this post-rock band on the rise. Mechanical Roots successfully toured the West Coast as a trio in 2019, and plans to unleash the full power of this alt-rock quartet in 2021.
