Please click "Register" to volunteer for one of the following shifts:
ALL DAY: 8am - 3pmSHIFT 1: 8am -11am (FULL)SHIFT 2: 10am - 1pmSHIFT 3: 12pm - 3:30pmDESCRIPTION:Volunteer navigators are paired one-to-one with a guest experiencing homelessness to help them navigate the event. As a navigator, you will play an important role in making guests feel welcome and comfortable, learning their needs and helping them get the services they need. Volunteers must be over 18 years of age to fill any of these shifts.
**Required training will be provided with specifics of our new venue (for first time and returning volunteers). **COVID-19 Notes: We are planning for the safest event possible to stop the spread of the novel coronavirus. We hope that by the event time, most people are vaccinated, however we cannot guarantee that everyone in attendance has been fully vaccinated. In order to maintain the important one-to-one matching model, we are planning a hybrid indoor/outdoor event in a larger space, incorporating social distancing when possible, and incorporating PPE according to CDC recommendations.
Project Homeless Connect Kansas City (PHCKC) is a free, annual event that connects homeless individuals and families with the vital services and care they need to move their lives forward, all on one day and in one place. There, we connect homeless Kansas Citians with difficult-to-obtain services including medical and dental services, vision care, identification procurement, food and nutrition benefits, employment assistance, housing assistance and more.
