Join to sip, write & share at this low-stakes creative writing workshop. Walk away with pieces of new writing and a brand new work of art Wine Down and Write events pair wine with poetry and prose, and this month, we're adding an art project that creates a visual art piece from your writing. Theme: Pride What to expect: You’ll start with nothing and leave with something you can take pride in. We will begin with discussions on what pride means to you. Then you’ll be led through a series of fun writing activities to get your creative juices flowing. You’ll also be guided by an artist and art educator through the process of turning your writing into a framable piece of art. We take breaks to sip and share, but sharing what you write is always optional. You can enjoy a glass of red or white, or bring a bottle of your favorite to share. Non-alcoholic beverage will be available We will also be toasting to Pride month. We stand with the LGBTQ community and feel everyone should be proud of their individual identities. Come join us to share words, wine, and art in community! -Free street parking/Entrance at red door. About Yolande: Yolande Clark-Jackson is the host of Wine Down and Write. She is a writer, educator, and author of Rocko's Big Launch, a Writer's Digest award-winning children's picture book. Yolande holds a MFA in creative writing and has over twenty years teaching experience. Her nonfiction writing can be found in The Write Life, Mayvenn, Miami Legacy Magazine, and the Chicken Soup for Soul: I’m Speaking Now anthology.
