Annuals That Can Take the Heat! Tuesday, July 6, 2021 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Instructor: Robert Bowden If you think YOU have it tough living through a Central Florida summer think about those poor flowers out in your yard.  As if the lubber grasshoppers weren’t enough, Central Florida’s heat and humidity can make the even the strongest among us reluctant to venture outside at this time of year.  All is not lost however -- enjoy a little time with Leu Gardens’ Executive Director, Robert Bowden, as he wanders through the Garden pointing out wonderful, heat-loving plants that not only survive but actually thrive in the summer heat.  Robert Bowden is the Director of Leu Gardens and author of Florida Top Ten Garden Guide by Sunset Books and Florida Fruit and Vegetable Gardening: Plant, Grow, and Harvest the Best Edibles by Cool Springs Press. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available to FNGLA Certified Professionals upon request.  Participants must withdraw from classes at least five days prior to the start of class in order to receive a full refund or credit. If we must cancel a class, we will make every effort to inform you prior to the class time, and you will receive a full refund or credit. Only those registered for the class will be permitted in the classroom. Childcare services are not provided. Beautiful Harry P. Leu Gardens is a 50-acre botanical oasis minutes north of downtown Orlando. Each individual garden is designed to further our mission: promote the awareness and understanding of plants. Harry P.
