Description
BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The Scudder Falls Toll Bridge on I-295 will be reduced to a single New Jersey-bound lane between Tuesday, June 22 and Friday, June 25 next week. Backups and delays should be expected during peak morning commuting hours.
Motorists should anticipate delays from 6 a.m.–10 a.m. eastbound between PA Route 332/Newtown-Yardley Road interchange and the Scudder Falls Bridge. Pennsylvania-bound drivers using the bridge will likely be unaffected.
Job commuters are advised to consider the following options if they plan on using the bridge during morning peak travel periods Tuesday to Fridays:
Use earlier departures Allow more time to reach destinations Work from home Postpone travel Use an alternate route like the Trenton-Morrisville (Route 1) Toll Bridge Concrete pours for the second bridge span start around midnight and continue into the morning. The pours are being conducted in a designed sequence as determined by the bridge's corresponding steel structural supports.
Single-lane restrictions and concrete pours are weather-sensitive, and can be cancelled at short notice.
The second bridge span is expected to open partially to vehicular traffic in late summer or early fall.
