SOS 4 Students “WE BUILD INDEPENDENT LEARNERS!” Would you like to help students in middle school through college succeed academically? Executive functions (E.F is the ability to plan, organize, attend, remember, start tasks and prioritize) are essential to school success. EF skills are overlooked by schools and challenging for many students. If you’ve been looking for an opportunity to use all of your talents as an educator and coach, we’re interested in talking to you about joining our team at SOS4Students! WE WANT YOU! SOS4Students is hiring skilled, dynamic and empathetic coaches to work 1-1 with students, in our Walnut Creek or Oakland offices. Every one of our clients is unique. In engaging with our clients, our coaches delve into each situation, looking as to what may be breaking down in the student’s academic or personal life, to help determine what tools the learner and/or the family might need. Our clients come from public and private schools, and a range of cultural, racial, and socio-economic backgrounds. Many are very bright but struggle with challenges such as ADHD, dyslexia, processing and working memory issues. SOS4Students Coaches should have the following qualifications and experience: Teaching, tutoring, or/and 1-to-1 counseling experience with students in middle and high school within the last five years.B.A. or M.A. in Education, Special Education, and a Teaching Credential (any subject) Experience working with neurodiverse learnersFamiliarity with and/or background coursework in educational therapy and learning disabilities including: executive functioning, ADHD, dyslexia, and processing speed and working memory issuesAbility to collaborate with families and schoolsConnect easily with adolescents and young adultsPosses a sense of humor, is flexible, and a self-starterKnowledgeable about tech tools and apps to help students plan, prioritize, take notes and prep for tests.
