Fugitive Task Force Searching For New Hampshire Narcotics Suspect

CONCORD, NH — The U.S. Marshals-New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force is searching for a felon who has faced a number of serious charges during the last decade. Shawn Michael Meiklejohn is 53, is about 6 feet, 1 inch tall, and weighs about 200 pounds. He has green eyes and brown hair. Meiklejohn has a tattoo on his left arm and a scar on her left knee. The warrant for his arrest was issued in February by the Strafford County Sheriffs for failure to appear on narcotics charges. "Meiklejohn has a criminal history that includes assault, narcotics, and disobeying police officers," Jeffrey White, a deputy marshal, said. "Meiklejohn has known ties to the Somersworth and Rollinsford areas, where he has family, friends, and associates." According to superior court records, Meiklejohn has a long criminal history dating back to the 1990s when he was first arrested on a habitual offender charge in 1990 and conduct after an accident charge in 1991. Meiklejohn was arrested on felony habitual offender charges in Barrington, Concord, and North Hampton in 2001. In Kingston about a year later, he was arrested on felony habitual offender, rules of the road-disobeying an officer, reckless conduct, attempt to commit charges. In July 2011, he was arrested in Lebanon on a felony acts prohibited charge but it was later dropped. In Laconia in June 2012, he was accused of second-degree and simple assault charges as well as criminal threatening. He was arrested on a felony bail jumping charge in September 2012. Meiklejohn pleaded guilty to the assault and threat charges in March 2014. In 2016, he was arrested in Gilford on deadly weapon and drug charges, accused of fleeing from police, and drug charges and driving after revocation or suspension-subsequent in Somersworth in August 2018. In that case, he was accused of failure to appear at a telephonic hearing on Feb. 3 and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
