Under general supervision, the General Maintenance Technician performs general repairs and maintenance on RCAD buildings, structures and equipment. The General Maintenance Technician will perform preventive and general repairs relative to plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry and HVAC systems of the College; will deliver, install, remove and move furniture, equipment and inventory, as well as other duties assigned. The General Maintenance Tech assembles, delivers, and installs equipment such as desks, easels, shelving, and other items as assigned. Delivers mail and supplies between campuses. Must have ability to learn and perform routine inventory “cycle counts” associated with Facilities Operations parts inventories. Successful incumbent must have ability to work effectively and follow detailed instructions; use all trade appropriate tools; and perform general building maintenance. The Maintenance Tech is responsible to maintain accurate records of all work performed. The Maintenance Tech must have the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, and attends classes and seminars as directed to update skills. In addition, this position will require ability to work assigned schedule which may include evening shifts; and flexibility for additional and on-call hours as business necessitates. Position is subject to “on-call” rotation responsibilities, and as business necessitates, may work on weekends, holidays and in emergency situations. Must have the ability to work in a variety of weather conditions; and ability to lift up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques. Minimum Qualifications: • High School Diploma or equivalent; or, an appropriate combination of education and experience. • One year of verifiable experience in the maintenance trades. • Experience using Microsoft Office and web-based software products. • Ability to work assigned schedule which may include evening shifts; and flexibility for additional and on-call hours as business necessitates. • General knowledge and skills which include reading, math, and communication that is typically necessary to complete maintenance projects. • Possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Florida driver’s license Required • Requires a Criminal and Motor Vehicle Background Check To apply on-line go to: Ringling College is an Equal Opportunity Employer
