Press release from the Atlanta Police Department: 06/16/2021 211671383 Preliminary information:  On June 16, 2021 at around 5:12 p.m., officers were dispatched to 309 Edgewood Ave SE on an officer struck by a vehicle.  Upon arrival, officers located the injured officer, and he was transported to the hospital with minor non-life-threatening injuries.  Officers were able to locate the vehicle involved after the driver called 911 stating she had struck someone.  Upon further investigation, it was determined the officer was involved in an unrelated foot pursuit and while chasing the suspect was struck by the vehicle.  The driver will not be charged in this incident.   Please keep in mind the above information is preliminary in nature and can change as the investigation progresses and new information comes to light.
