Essential Functions: - Must demonstrate full competence in meeting safety, quality and production standards. - Must qualify and maintain the following weld certifications: GMAW-S (FCAW), All positions, desired GMAW-SC, All positions, desired SMAW, All positions, desired GTAW, All positions, desired - Must follow Procedures for Welder performance Qualification Testing. - Performs work as a Floater in the Fabrication & Assembly, Pressure Vessel, or CNC Departments as assigned. - Must have the ability to understand and follow all safety rules. - Must have the ability to operate the overhead crane, scissor lift, use scaffolding & ladders. - Must have the ability to work in confined space and up to 25’ heights as required. - Must have the ability to read blueprints and process sheets accurately. - Must know, understand, and abide by 5S housekeeping procedures and Lean Manufacturing practices. - All other duties as assigned. Experience: - Gas Metal Arc Welding, required. - Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG) and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and ability to pass a 6G welding test according to ASME code preferred. - Must be able to work from blueprints and have good mathematics skills. - Metal Fabrication experience preferred. Hours of Work: Second Shift, 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 midnight, M-F with possible daily / Saturday overtime. ____________________________________________________________________________________________ INDUSTRIAL PAINTER at Cleaver-Brooks Click here to Apply: Education: High school degree or GED equivalent preferred; technical training at an accredited school preferred; Certification in an EPA approved Painter Training Course required. NACE training helpful. Must have good reading, writing and math skills M.S. Office skills preferred. Experience: Minimum of one year experience in industrial painting in heavy industrial shop, or similar heavy industrial manufacturing, construction, or maintenance, performing the work described herein preferred. Essential Functions: - Must be able to prep surfaces of vessels, structural steel, piping, equipment, parts or structures by chipping, grinding, wire brushing, power sanding / hand sanding, and steel grit blasting prior to painting. This includes removing rust, tack welding, weld splatter, oils, and dirt. - Must be able to mask boiler, burner, and piping to prevent overspray from different colors and types of paint. - Must be able to blend in grinding marks to minimize such marks showing on final paint job. - Must have the ability to read, understand, and follow paint prep specifications and paint specifications on the shop order or job specific Project Data Sheet, including paint type and mil thickness. - Must be able to take readings of blast profiles and readings of wet/dry mil thicknesses. - Must be able read, understand and follow paint mixing instruction as provided by paint manufacturer, including thinning and atmosphere requirements.. - Must know, per the paint specifications, which tip size to use, paint tip fan size, filter size, drying time, and recoat time; apply surface primer, intermediate coats and top coats using a spray gun, paint brush, or canned spray paint. - Must be able to troubleshoot paint defects and use corrective measures; repairs areas of damaged paint by wire brushing, power sanding, or hand sanding, and repainting. - Must know proper clean up procedure for the equipment, left over paint stock, and hazardous waste products per State, Federal and local requirements. (RCRA) - Must keep paint cage orderly. This includes proper storage of paint, paint supplies, and paint equipment per State, Federal and local requirements. - Must keep supervisor informed of low stock. - Ability to maintain manual and electronic records and follow procedures as required by State, Federal and local requirements. (RCRA) - Must have the ability to read, understand, & follow all safety& work rules, instructions, signs & labels. - Must have the training and ability to operate the overhead crane, properly rig crane for handling various components, and set up ladders and scaffolds to perform tasks above ground level. - Must know, understand, and abide by 5S housekeeping procedures and Lean Manufacturing practices. - Other duties as assigned. Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements: Must work easily and skillfully with hands; lifts 40 – 60 lbs. chest-high on occasional basis; see well, hear well; must be able to regularly bend, stretch, stoop, squat, and climb ladders. Will climb and maintain balance working 18 feet off the ground on ladders, scaffolds, paint booth equipment; works in confined space. Use PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed shoes, hard hats, protective clothing, grinding shields, fall protection, and be medically cleared for respirator usage, and wear properly fitting respirators; must be able to meet all OSHA required and/or client-required medical standards. Position requires extensive standing and walking up to 12 hours on cement surface as part of normal job duties. Must be able to read tape measure; read and interpret blueprints, process sheets, safety rules, operating/procedure and maintenance instructions. Hours of Work: Second Shift, M – F generally 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 Midnight as scheduled, with daily or weekend overtime as needed. _____________________________________________________________________________________________ MAINTENANCE MECHANIC at Cleaver-Brooks Click here to Apply: Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred. Technical training in industrial maintenance and/or industrial electricity or electronics preferred. Must have good reading, writing & math skills. Experience: Two (2) years of experience in industrial maintenance and/or industrial electricity with some background in electronics preferred. Knowledge of basic electricity; strong verbal and interpersonal skills; basic welding skills; ability to use a variety of hand and power tools; and ability to use a tape measure and read and interpret blueprints, safety rules, operating procedure and maintenance instructions preferred. Essential Duties: - Must have the ability to diagnose and repair / replace any basic building, structure or grounds maintenance problem. - Must be capable of performing preventative maintenance tasks on all welding equipment, drills, brake, tube bender, shear, plasma table, fin tube, forklifts and overhead cranes. - Must be capable of performing intricate machine maintenance installation, repair and / or replacement, except where management determines that machinery complexity requires outside services. - Must be capable of troubleshooting and performing electrical repairs on all welding equipment. - Must be able to identify parts, place purchase orders and receive parts related to plant equipment, and assist Maintenance Mechanic I. - Must successfully complete confined space safety training. - Must know, understand, and abide by all plant safety rules and regulations. - Must know, understand, and abide by plant ISO procedures and 5S procedures. - Other duties in the plant as assigned by management. Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 60-80 lbs.; ability to work up to 12 hours standing and walking on hard cement surface using different body positions – twisting, pulling, pushing etc. Must be able to read safety rules, operating procedures, and maintenance instructions. Will work at 40 feet heights, climb ladders, work in confined space, access all areas of the plant inside and outside temperatures. Will be exposed to noise, dust, dirt, welding fumes and machine lubricants and/or oils. Must be able and willing to work with and properly use all necessary and/or required personal protective equipment including, but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed shoes, hard hats and fall protection. Hours of Work: Second Shift, 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 midnight, M-F with possible daily overtime, including weekends.
