Who We Are This position is at our Columbia facility. Our history dates all the way back to 1850 and we now have 11 manufacturing facilities across the US and Canada. The Position As a Processor in the Foundry, you may be assigned to any of the following duties as needed per production and staffing needs: Desprue (remove) spurs from molds using hands or hammer Sort product by shape and size by hand. Discard imperfects Shovel sand onto belts using a shovel Shovel sand from pits using a shovel. Remove buckets of sand from work area. Sweep and clean designated areas using a push broom Upon obtaining certification, operate forklift to transport waste and product. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: Exposure to extreme heat above 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Noise level can exceed 80 decibels and hearing protection provided by employer is required in all work areas. Exposure to dust caused by production process; masks available upon request. Hazardous conditions include moving machine parts and forklifts. Employees are issued hardhat, hearing protection, safety glasses, gloves. Steel-toed shoes are required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Standing entire shift Pushing/Pulling: Must be able to push up to a frequent basis (34% to 66% of work shift) when using push broom to clear floor surfaces. Lifting up to 50 lbs frequently throughout shift Climbing and reaching Finger dexterity when sorting very small pieces Visual Ability: Must have depth perception (ability to see objects where and as they really are) up to a constant basis.
