Bread Packer & Quality Control Hello Friends of Bend! Sparrow Bakery is looking to add a bread packer and quality control individual to our production team at Sparrow HQ! This is a Full Time, weekdays only position (Monday-Friday), 4am start, 6-8 hour shifts. We are offering a $250 singing bonus for any individual who can begin training during the month of June! 6 month minimum verbal commitment required. Packing bread requires an early call (4am) and is a relatively fast paced shift. General duties include: reading and understanding our spreadsheet of orders; learning the preferences of our wholesale customers; slicing loaf bread and placing in bags; printing and placing barcode stickers and sell by dates on bread and products; lots of counting, double counting, and lots of hustle! This is a good job for someone who prides themselves on accuracy and organization, someone who feels they can evaluate a product for sale (burnt, flat, or perfect, etc), someone who enjoys a head-down-hustle type of shift. Packers need to be good communicators with their drivers about where certain product can be found, or if there are discrepancies to particular orders. Packers also need to have a good social nature as they are the first employee to greet either other employees or purveyors as they enter the building - Packers are expected to look up from their work with a smile and to be helpful at the front door, when necessary! Candidates with relevant fast-paced work experience will expect to be offered a minimum of $15-$16 / hour. Schedules will be consistent with weekends off - a true anomalie in the food service industry! Health Insurance offered after 60 days and some annual PTO starting in 2022. We ARE looking for a FT, Long-term packer, so high school and college students who will need to return to work in the fall, and will not be able to maintain the above schedule through the fall, need not apply - sorry guys!
