Description
A few things this requires...
Portability. Acoustic is a must, battery amps if electric.
Grooving for extended periods of time. Good rhythmic sense and endurance. It is really less about playing songs that people are going to listen to than it is playing music to passerbys who may or may not stop to listen. Jamming. Some improvisational skill is good.
The ability to endure the weather. Wouldn't want to play in direct sunlight in the summer, or when it is raining, but it gets hot out there.
A good attitude. Lets work together to make good sounding music. Try to bring out the best in each other's playing. Have fun.
I am a 32 yo guitar player who sings. I have a lot of solo busking experience around the country. Settled down moreso now in Austin, wanting to busk in a group.
Looking for drummers/percussionists.
Looking for blues harp players.
Looking for anyone who plays an instrument and wants to try out.
If you sing, that is definitely a plus, but before you can sing you should be able to play an instrument. If we have a few singers, group singing would create a good effect.
Would like to get a band together first and foremost. If we can play as a street band, we can play anywhere. That is the idea. Have fun.
If we cover songs, I think it is a good idea if the band agrees to play it. If we write songs, I think is is a good idea that the whole band is involved in the writing process to the extent that is comfortable to the individual.
I work weekdays. I have evenings free. Best if you have same schedule.
Very new project here
