Funky/rhythmic creative project

Description
Focus: Creative Project - Original music only. This won't be a paying gig. At least not off the bat. It could be. But we have to work for it. I'm a bass player. I have all the gear I'd ever need. I can play a bit of rhythm guitar and simple lead as well. I wish I could, but while I can sing, and I can play, I can't sing and play. Ideally, I'm hoping to find both a drummer and guitarist that can sing and play. Preferably, the drummer has a garage or basement he's setup in that we can use as a jamspot. Otherwise we can look into splitting rental costs if a meeting goes well. I'd like to start as a 3 piece and evaluate adding keys or other instruments down the road. I have nothing against people whose only instrument is their voice, but I feel like they'd probably get bored in the kind of band playing in my head. Genre - Hard to describe. Rooted in rhythmic but musical concepts like funk, reggae, but more eclectic. Jambandish but.. not exactly. I've been in about two bands in the last 5 years. One got about 20 times the work done in about half the time but had strong personalities that clashed and made it way less fun than it should've been for how good the music was. The other got hit by a pandemic and I'm not sure would've done much better without it, despite having talent. Maybe the third time's the charm. I'm going to be picky here. I have enough experience at this point to know what I want and don't want. Looking for- creative musicians that like myself find themselves with an instrument in their hands often when they're at home noodling out something they've never played before and then refining that into something musical. I do that myself, and in my experience, it leads to good things when you bring other people into it. Not looking for - cover band, rock and roll band, metal band, country band While I'm not looking for exactly the most technically gifted musicians in the world, I especially require a drummer who can keep up or outpace me who is also on the same page with me musically. There's only really one way to tell. The drummers I've worked the best with instantly inspired some of the best bass lines I've ever written, looking all wide eyed at each other like "bro we were meant to do this" While I've met several talented drummers, that's only happened to me like twice. I'm not saying I'm some virtuoso.. but with the right platform I get down. The best band situation I've ever been in, we didn't talk about music. We just played it. 2 days a week, 3 hours a session with breaks and about 10-20 minutes of socializing. We all brought ideas to the table. Sometimes we were able to combine them. Sometimes we just picked up our instruments and created something amazing. Shame we didn't get along. I'd like to recreate that with people who understand respect for one another, as well as respect for the time of everyone involved. I think 6 months in is a good evaluation point, and if by then significant progress has not been made towards a growing list of original songs we call it. If we have a good thing going.. we double down and get ready to present ourselves to the world. I currently have about 3-4 song ideas, 2 pretty much complete but open to edits. Honestly I'm writing new bass lines or guitar chord progression every time I pick one up. I just don't always keep them in the noggin if I don't use them regularly. If you have some music you've been working on we might be able to mix it into something better than either of us could've done on our own. Sorry for the long read, but I'm hoping like me, there are some musicians out there eager to put our first set list together. And if not, good luck in what you're looking for.
