Mechanics Helper Pioneer Rentals is currently seeking a responsible and self-motivated individual to join our team, assist in the shop as a mechanics helper and learn the equipment rental business from the ground up with opportunity for advancement. Associate will assist in maintaining and repairing all types of rental tools & equipment. Position requires some basic knowledge of small engines, landscaping/contractor equipment and basic electrical, however specifics can be learned on the job. Must be courteous, professional and knowledgeable with customers in regard to safety procedures and rental equipment. Duties will include but are not limited to: · Prepare accurate records on the maintenance, repair and fuel levels of equipment. · Maintain all decals, safety warnings and company ID stickers. · Inform supervisor of equipment failures. · Request ordering of parts, tools and equipment as necessary. · Analyze equipment malfunctions. · Repair power and mechanical equipment. · Apply troubleshooting techniques to equipment repair. · Maintain an organized shop by returning tools and unused parts to the appropriate storage area. · Maintain a clean shop, especially personal working area, and keep floors swept and mopped. Assist in maintaining the company property. · Implement preventative maintenance program. · Maintain company vehicles. · Assist customer with pick-up and return of equipment, tools, trailers and towable equipment. · Demonstrate safe towing procedures. Ensure all equipment is secured to customer vehicle properly. · Check and refill equipment fuel. · Clean, inspect, service and test equipment prior to tagging it “Ready to Rent.” · Fill propane tanks as requested. · Assist counter, yard, warehouse and delivery personnel as necessary. · Perform other duties as requested. Must be at least 18, read and write English (bi-lingual Spanish a plus) and possess valid, clean Driver’s License. This position requires weekend hours. Working Conditions: Must stand for long periods of time. Work will be outdoors and indoors with general warehouse conditions, in which some work areas may not be heated or air conditioned. This job requires heavy interaction with co-workers and with customers. This position requires frequent lifting and a significant degree of walking, bending and transporting objects of various weights and dimensions. May have exposure to chemicals, including but not limited to gasoline, diesel fuel, propane, kerosene and cleaning solvents.
