Please join us June 23rd for our next member meeting featuring an interactive Q&A with Northrop & Johnson's Chairman Kevin Merrigan. We are excited to welcome Kevin Merrigan to join us in discussion on the current climate of the industry and our vision for it in the future. Northrop and Johnson Chairman, Kevin Merrigan, has a background as unique and captivating as the yachts they represent. In the late 1980’s he joined the Northrop & Johnson team in New England, before he took over the Fort Lauderdale office, eventually becoming CEO of the Northrop and Johnson Holding Company in 1990. Since then, Kevin has negotiated purchase and sale agreements on over 300 yachts, he has contracted ten, new construction projects, and has closed deals in 15 countries. In 2020, he embraced an opportunity to merge Northrop and Johnson with the resources, stability and influence of the Marine Max brand. Following the merger, Kevin remains committed and engaged as Northrop & Johnson's Chairman. Kevin is a member of FYBA, MYBA, YBAA, CYBA and LYBA. Kevin will moderate an open format Q&A where we will discuss the industry as a whole and how it relates to us individually in our respective careers. To help prepare everyone, below is an outline of the topics that we will be covering in the conversation: Q1: What about the industry drew you into seeking your current profession and what experience did you have that landed you the job? Q2: What do you think is the biggest challenge to the industry right now and how does that resonate as a challenge in your current position? Q3: How do you feel the industry can improve and what improvements would you like to see in your current position? Q4: How do the challenges we face in the industry/our careers affect our customer experience? Q5: Do you think the recent mergers (i.e. MarineMax/Fraser/N&J and Safe Harbor/Rybovich/LMC/Newport Shipyard) will benefit or hinder the industry? Q6: What goals do you see for the industry and for yourself personally in the next 5 years, and what resources are needed to achieve them? The member meeting will be followed by a networking social and RSVP's will receive a complimentary drink ticket.
