Join us on the farm for a community-centric Juneteenth celebration! Join Zenger Farm for our 3rd annual Juneteenth Celebration, the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. This will be an in-person event with delicious vegan food, storytime for children, food history with Chef Rachelle, and multiple activity stations for the whole family! This celebration is centered around sharing and uplifting Black voices, stories and food traditions. Planned activities include: Plant and seed giveaway Black history activity cards and coloring pages DIY bathsalt and scrub making Fresh herb and veggie taste tests And more!We are excited to host Portland Street Response, who will be tabling at this event. Food for this event has been generously provided by Earthly Gourmet, Tofurky, and Hibisbloom. Additional Information:Sliding Scale: This event is made possible through our sliding scale or "pay as you can" model. Please pay what you are able to while registering. The suggested scale is $5-$100 per group. Priority will be given to BIPOC and David Douglas School District families for slots at the lower end of the scale. You can read our sliding-scale philosophy and explanation here. Free Registration: We are offering free registration using the waiver code OFD21 to BIPOC and low-income families.
