Kim Council is running for Brooklyn Borough President to level the playing field for all of Brooklyn by making sure every neighborhood gets the attention and resources it deserves. She’ll make our government work for everyone by dispatching a Mobile Borough Hall to help communities access the many programs and services available, and hold our leaders accountable for failing to invest in our communities. Job Summary: This is an hourly position in a fast-paced campaign environment. Canvassers will work with the campaign’s Field Director and the overall campaign team to implement the field plan by engaging in direct voter contact, including going door-to-door and making phone calls directly to voters to talk about the campaign. Applicants will be expected to be able to canvass for at least 8 hours per day. Shifts will be available seven days a week and at least 24+ hours a week will be available. While previous campaign experience is preferred, this is an entry-level position, and all canvassers will be trained. Compensation: $25 per hour Responsibilities include: Engaging in direct voter contact by knocking on doors and calling voters to tell them about Kim and her campaign Communicating information to voters regarding Ranked Choice Voting and how/when/where to vote Tracking data and responses gathered from canvassing Meeting reporting requirements and accountability guidelines Working independently as well as part of a team Qualifications: Previous campaign experience, grassroots organizing experience, or documented history of activism is preferred Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with voters, volunteers, and staff with a wide variety of backgrounds Access to Apple or Android smartphone is required. Must be able to effectively communicate with others in a professional and pleasant manner and must be able to walk, stand, or sit for long periods of time. Requirements: Must currently be living in New York City or the immediate surrounding area Able to commit to 8-hour shifts between today and June 22nd. All candidates must follow the campaign's goals, messaging, and safety protocols (including the use of PPE and compliance with daily health and safety guidelines).
