Move Manager for Organizing/Downsizing and Packing/Unpacking Location: Western & Southern Boston Suburbs, and South Coast, MA PERMANENT PART-TIME/ HOURLY WAGE IS $20/HR TO START AND WHILE TRAINING; $25/HR WHEN FULLY TRAINED/ NO BENEFITS/WEEKENDS NOT NECESSARY/MUST HAVE FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE MONDAY-FRIDAY WITH NO SET DAYS TO WORK Seeking a motivated person to help our clients downsize and manage their moves; seeking a person who is extremely patient and a good listener. We are not a moving company but we help people move. The individual we seek is thoughtful, self-motivated, and must like helping people declutter. Responsibilities: 1. Patiently work with, and advise our clients on the best way to sort, organize, and delineate items for sale/donation, move, or storage. This is a hands-on job and employees will be working in client homes decluttering and packing closets/cupboards, bookshelves, attics, garages, basements, etc. 2. Provide the physical action of sorting and packing – the client is generally non-participatory in the physical aspect of the organizing and packing; the client will verbally guide the move manager - this is a physical job that requires strength and dexterity. 3. Pack the client's clothing and household items; the move manager will be part of a team. 4. Work directly with moving companies to oversee moves and also arrange long-distance shipments working with the company administrative office. 5. Unpack and set up the new home or apartment if requested and if the client’s move is regional. 6. Work with the client and the company administration to manage related services, such as shredding, cleanouts and home cleaning, waste removal, shopping for new household items. Company Expectations 1. The company uses an online time-tracking and scheduling program. Employees must be computer literate and must use the company program to submit work hours, expenses, and client notes. All employees must have a working computer or mobile phone, and personal internet connectivity; the company does not provide a computer, or mobile phone, or internet. 2. Proactively assist clients with all queries and obtain information when answers are not known. 3. Must pass a background check and provide work references. 4. Must be literate in English and have good spelling and communication skills. 5. Mandatory for all employees: a) a car b) current driver’s license c) current auto insurance d) current medical insurance e) must be at least 18 years of age f) able to lift 25 lbs. minimum 6. Demonstrate continual awareness of company core values of honesty, integrity, and safety for all. 7. Deal in an ethical and honest manner in all ways that support the company and team in all activities, and promote goodwill. 8. Ensure client satisfaction through profound courtesy and compassion. 9. Respect the company’s and client’s confidentiality and behave appropriately at all times consistent with the responsibilities of the role of Move Manager. 10. A negative COVID-19 test must be done before you are scheduled to work or present a valid vaccine card. 11.Gloves and masks are provided to you, as well as uniform shirts. All work shoes will be designated as such and are not to be worn outside of a client’s home. Skills and Experience 1. Accurate knowledge of moving, de-cluttering, and an understanding of move coordination. 2. A willingness to be trained in the art of packing. No move management experience necessary. 3. Knowledgeable in computerized administrative and billing systems through online and mobile phone programs. 4. Previous work within an assisted living facility is preferred but not necessary. 5. Previous work in event planning is preferred but not necessary. 6. Previous work in commercial and/or residential cleaning preferred but not necessary. 7.
