Avoid the traffic to, from, and inside Lodge Park. Ride the train from downtown Monticello to watch the fireworks! Ride to the fireworks in style on one of our two restored dinning cars and enjoy a delcious dinner of grilled sirlon steak, spinach and artichoke stuffed chicken, or lasagna. Sides and drinks included. The dinner train will leave one hour early at 7:00 p.m. and may choose toget off early or enjoy a longer ride back to town to pick up the regular fireworks riders. Bring lawn chairs, blankets, and insect repellent. The Monticello Railway Museum is an all-volunteer organization in central Illinois with a 7½ mile long operating railroad line, and a railroad yard open to the public. We offer train rides on weekends from May through October (rain or shine), and we offer a number of special events throughout the year. We also collect, preserve, interpret, and exhibit materials and artifacts from throughout the fascinating history of trains and railroading. Come explore our many rail cars and other equipment, and view our museum displays.
