Join us to celebrate Raleigh's Women of Change at a reception and dinner event. You're Invited to Celebrate Raleigh's "Women of Change" with the Friends of the City of Raleigh Museum On Tuesday, June 29, we will honor the finalists at a 5 p.m. reception at the Museum followed by a 6:30 p.m. dinner at Caffe Luna. This is a fundraiser for the museum, which has suffered financially due to the pandemic. Tickets are $100 each and tables are available for $600 for six seats. Raleigh's Women of Change 2021: Gina Stephens Maggie Kane Melissa Essary Paulette R DillardMegan George Angela Thorpe Nancy McFarlane Sabrina Goode Sophia Woo Angela Salamanca The Museum’s current exhibition on view is “Women of Change: The Legacy of the 19th Amendment,” and it chronicles the quests for equal suffrage in 1920 and what women did with the vote over the next century. These women include Gertrude Weil, Vivian Irving and Betty Knudsen. We asked the public to tell us who has impacted Raleigh in a positive way, whether it be a teacher, elected official, or colleague and the results are in! Giving brief remarks at the museum will be Campbell Law School Dean Emerita and Professor Melissa Essary, Raleigh Magazine founder and publisher Gina Stephen and A Place at the Table's Director Maggie Kane. It is a 501c(3) organization that previously served as the board for the museum when it operated as a non-profit entity.
