Saugus Man Killed In I-95 Crash

NEWBURYPORT, MA — A 48-year-old Saugus man was killed in a three-car crash on I-95 North Tuesday afternoon. State police said the Saugus man was driving when his Hyundai struck the back of a Ford Transit van being driven by a 28-year-old Beverly man. Police said the Hyundai's speed is believed to have been a factor. The van rolled over and the Hyundai crossed over into the southbound lanes, where it struck a truck driven by a 61-year-old man from Maine. The Saugus man died at Anna Jacques Hospital. The Maine man suffered minor injuries and the Beverly man was not injured. Lanes in both directions were closed for about two hours.
