Recreational Marijuana Dispensary Opens In Mashpee

MASHPEE, MA — What was once a medical marijuana dispensary in Mashpee can now also sell recreational cannabis. Triple M added recreational products to its store at 29 Echo Road on Wednesday. It's the first recreational marijuana dispensary to come to the Upper Cape, with the regions customers having to go to Eastham or Provincetown prior to its opening. The store celebrated its new business with a grand opening ceremony Wednesday, and it included live music and a Seafood Sam's food truck. "Our new recreational dispensary in Mashpee provides the same fantastic customer experience and high-quality, locally-grown, lab-tested marijuana products that our medical patients have come to love," said Kevin O'Reilly, the chief operations officer for Triple M. "Our Mashpee medical dispensary was the first marijuana dispensary to open its doors to patients in the Upper Cape Cod Community, and now we are looking forward to welcoming Cape residents and visitors to Upper Cape Cod's first recreational dispensary to experience our unparalleled customer service and top-notch products." Triple M opened its medical dispensary in Mashpee in 2018, and in January 2021, the Mashpee Board of Selectmen voted to change the dispensary's community host agreement, to allow recreational marijuana sales. Then the state's Cannabis Control Commission inspected Triple M's facility on April 12 and gave it the green light for recreational sales. The store offers curbside pickup for both recreational and medical sales, a spokesperson for Triple M said. Products include flower, pre-rolls, edibles, vape cartridges, tinctures and more. Customers must be over 21 and have a valid ID to buy recreational marijuana, and can also be bought by tourists from out of state. The store's hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m., on Sundays. There are now five recreational marijuana stores on Cape Cod, including Triple M. Among them are two in Provincetown: Curaleaf and b/well. There's also Piping Plover in Wellfleet and Emerald Grove in Eastham.
