NEW YORK CITY — Firework booms echoed across New York City and pyrotechnics illuminated the skyline Tuesday night as the city celebrated the end of most coronavirus restrictions. Gov. Andrew Cuomo lifted state mandates against COVID-19 that day when 70 percent of all state adults received at least one dose of vaccine. "What does 70 percent mean? It means that we can now return to life as we know it," he said. New York City, along with nine other places across the state, hosted a celebratory firework show to mark the milestone. Here are some photos from the big event in New York Harbor.
