The Show Goes On: Mineola Students Perform In Age Of COVID-19

MINEOLA, NY — The COVID-19 pandemic has kept curtains closed on high school drama and fine arts departments. But Mineola High School found a way to keep the lights on while following CDC guidelines. Earlier this month, students put on a performance of "Capsized Cabaret," a show they helped write and design. It's about a cruise ship that is lost in the Bermuda Triangle. As part of the production, students were asked to audition as a character of their own creation. Existing songs were then catered to their scenes. "Capsized Cabaret" had two performances in Mineola Memorial Park, where students were able to stay socially distant while the audience watched from their lawn chairs. Congratulations to the cast, crew, and staff of "Capsized Cabaret!"
