APOLLO BEACH, FL —New warning signs will be installed at Apollo Beach Nature Preserve following a drowning of three people last week in that area, WFLA reported.
The Nature Preserve remains closed as Hillsborough County officials have the safety signs installed. During the next few weeks, water patrol will increase in this popular area that attracts many people.
"There's no doubt in my mind that they'll be some additional safety measures put in place because of this incident. It's just unfortunate that something tragic like this had to happen," Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister told the TV outlet.
Twenty-seven-year-old Kristoff Murray jumped into the water Friday evening after seeing Janosh Purackal, 37, and his son Danial Puracal, 3, get swept away by a current.
