GREAT NECK, NY — When you think of Great Neck, "beach town" probably isn't the first description that comes to mind. But believe it or not, the New York City suburb has made it onto WalletHub's list of "2021's Best Beach Towns To Live In." The list, published Wednesday by the personal finance site, includes 191 communities with populations between 10,000 and 150,000 and at least one beach listed on TripAdvisor. The sample was then split into ocean towns and lake towns and evaluated across six key dimensions: affordability; weather; safety; economy; education and health; and quality of life. Each metric was listed with its corresponding weight, and the communities were subsequently graded on a 100-point scale. A score of 100 represents the most favorable conditions for beach-town living. For the list of ocean towns, Great Neck ranked No. 61 and received a total score of 52.79. Here's a breakdown: Affordability: 132Weather: 136Safety: 60Economy: 38Education and Health: 8Quality of Life: 41 Naples, Florida, ranked as the best beach town to live in by the ocean, according to WalletHub, followed by Laguna Beach, California, Lahaina, Hawaii, and Newport Beach, California.
