Press release from the Caddo Parish District Attorney's Office: Jun 15, 2021 A Shreveport man convicted early last year for crimes committed in 2018 was finally sentenced to four decades in prison, his brief reprieve occasioned by COVID-19 restrictions and delays. Jermaine Dewone Bolden, 36, who has the street name "Sockhead," was sentenced Monday, June 14, 2021, by District Judge Ramona Emanuel to 40 years for an armed robbery conviction and to a 10-year concurrent term for aggravated battery. Both terms are to be served without benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence. Bolden was convicted of armed robbery and aggravated battery, both with a firearm, on February 27, 2020, in Caddo District Court. Jury deliberation took less than 30 minutes. Bolden's victim, who was not present at sentencing, was shot and robbed April 8, 2018 after he was lured to a friend's home where Bolden was a guest. The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Sam Crichton and Ed Blewer. Bolden was defended by Kurt Goins. This press release was produced by the Caddo Parish District Attorney's Office.
