Join Riverfront North and Glen Foerd on a bike ride along the Baxter Trail starting at Pennypack and kayak excursion on the Delaware River. Join Riverfront North and Glen Foerd on a bike ride along the Baxter Trail from Pennypack on the Delaware up to Glen Foerd on the Delaware. Once there we will participate in a guided kayak excursion on the Delaware River. We will bike back along the Baxter trail to our starting point. The ride is approximately 4 miles each way on a generally flat paved path. There will be a few blocks of biking on a street bike lane. All participants must be at least 18 years of age or 14+ with a parent/guardian. Price includes guided bike ride, guided kayak excursion including kayaks, paddles, and PFDs. Please note: We will be kayaking in tandem kayaks, so bring a buddy! Built in 1850 and expanded and refurbished throughout its time as a private residence, the Glen Foerd mansion is currently home to an array of historic domestic artifacts, American and European art, and contemporary art installations. Glen Foerd is a Philadelphia oasis situated at the confluence of the Delaware River and Poquessing Creek. The public is welcome to enjoy the grounds and spectacular river views.
