NEW JERSEY — Perhaps it's easier to just search "COVID." According to a report on the most misspelled words in Google searches, New Jersey has its greatest difficulty with "coronavirus." A report from AT&T experts analyzed the most misspelled word in Google searches. While the pandemic understandably occupies the minds of New Jerseyans and Americans, sometimes it has their fingers operating before their brains can correctly spell the words. "Coronavirus" was the most misspelled word in six states, and the most common misspelling was "Caronavirus." Nationwide, Americans had most trouble with typing "quarantine," with "corn teen" becoming the most common misstep. The data comprises Google Trends information from March 24, 2020, to the same date this year. COVID-related words didn't win everywhere, as three states had trouble spelling "every" — most commonly as "evary." Those who speak British English may color (colour?) this list misleading, since seven states spelled "favorite" as "favourite." But AT&T Experts went with American English spellings. But remember, there are simple rules to English spelling. I before E except after C, unless you leisurely deceive eight overweight heirs to forfeit their sovereign conceits.
