Door County Antique Show Becomes Door County Antique, Vintage and Fine Art Show Those of us who live in Door County or who frequently visit, cherish the county’s old-fashioned charm, nostalgic atmosphere and artistic character. It’s a place of traditions. Started in 1974, the Door County Antique Show has been an annual summer tradition, for most years with some changes. The newly named Door County Antique, Vintage and Fine Art Marketplace, will be held at: The Stone Harbor Resort and Conference Center 107 N. First St., Sturgeon Bay, WI. 54235 Dates are Wednesday, July 7th. and Thursday, July 8th 2021. 10 to 6 each day Admission is $6. Good for both days- Children under 12 are free. Ample free parking. Now under new management, The family friendly, new, yearly event will not only include features, of what has made the antique show so successful in the past, but add some enhancements including the additions of original artwork, sought-after collectibles and vintage décor from the mid 19th Century to the middle of the 20th Century. “Today’s shoppers are very different than the “antiquers” of the 1970s to 1990s,” stated Larry Kaczmarek, the new promoter of the show. “Some of today’s shoppers are more discriminate. They aren’t all into collecting ‘stuff’ to sit on shelves or behind glass cases. Instead, they are interested in creating a unique, eclectic and personalized home décor to live in, electing to “retro-fit” antiques to provide a practical re-purpose in their homes, their cottages and as gifts. “Whether you are a traditional antique, vintage or fine art collector, or someone who just appreciates the way these items help to create, a unique and warm environment for living and entertaining, you’ll enjoy the opportunity to shop from 30 exceptional, friendly and knowledgeable vendors,”and actually hold and inspect a work of art or a 150 year old antique…..There will not be any “craft” or rummage items..Nothing new.. Dealers at this year’s show will include purveyors of art, antiques, primitives, sports and movie memorabilia, and vintage collectibles, from Victorian to Arts & Crafts to Mid-Century Modern. Furniture, jewelry, pottery, picture frames, ephemera, lighting, framed art, garden display pieces, textiles, Colombian and American Indian relics, advertising, toys, sporting goods, lithographs, Art Glass, repurposed antique items, and so much more, will all be available for purchase.
