FERNDALE, MI — Police have arrested a man they say stole money and tobacco products from a tobacco shop in Ferndale Monday. Andre Gordon, 23, of Detroit, was arraigned Tuesday in 43rd District Court on three counts of breaking and entering, a 10-year felony. Gordon was given a $30,000 cash bond and is scheduled to appear in court again on June 24. Ferndale police said they responded to the Puff Factory, 800 W. Nine Mile Road, around 6:18 a.m. Monday following a tripped burglary alarm. Officers said they found the front glass door was broken and two cash registers missing from the store upon arriving. A witness told police they saw the incident and provided police with a description, police said. A Ferndale police sergeant located a vehicle used by Gordon a short time later while canvassing the area, police said. When he approached the vehicle, Gordon fled from the vehicle, police said. Gordon was eventually arrested without incident and the property he was accused of stealing was recovered, police said. Authorities said they also have tied Gordon to two burglaries from May 22 and June 14.
