Description
We are a race timing company and the principal race timer for the Leadville Race on Saturday, June 19. We are looking to hire one assistant race timer (all training provided).
We have one location on the race course where timing equipment will be positioned to read Radio Frequency ID reads from racers as they pass by. Basically, this person will turn on the timing equipment, set the time and date, connect the internet, record bibs on a handheld device as people pass by, and babysit the equipment until it is time to shut it all down. Training will be provided, but it is super easy. You MUST NOT be afraid of learning new, simple tasks. You MUST NOT be afraid of technology, and we'd prefer someone who is already techy. Again, though it is super-easy.
Must Be Available
Friday, June 18 from 5PM - 9PM - During this time, we will review the timing manual, drive to the locations on the course, and go through the setup and activation of the timing equipment.
Saturday, June 19 from 5:00am to 4:00pm - This is the timeframe of the race.
Requirements: Must have a car and reliable cellular service. If you have an iPhone that is highly preferred over Android. Must know how to use the GPS on your phone. We find that Verizon is better service. AT&T might be ok as well. Sprint did not work for our staff last year. It would also be nice if you are familiar with the area. You must be reliable and timeliness is critical.
A total of $225 will be paid upon completion of the race. You must be present both Friday and Saturday. If you are interested and available, please contact Michael.
