I'm a local documentary photographer (still photos) and I've alway been interested in photographing the work done in live theater in the lead-up to opening night. My plan is to photograph the auditions, rehearsals, set construction, costuming, pretty much everything that happens before the play premiers. I'd provide photos at no cost to anyone that wanted some, including to the production company and the theater. I'd also hold some photos back so that once coverage is complete I could pitch the story to various publications. I'd be sure to either avoid photographing anyone that didn't want to be involved or to not use any photos they might appear in.
