Chemtron is currently searching for a Diesel Mechanic. Starting pay is competitive in the industry but based off of experience. Job Summary: This position is responsible for performing the maintenance and repair on vehicles and equipment at Chemtron Corp. Diesel Mechanic Requirements: • High school diploma; Additional vocational training, skilled trades is a plus • Excellent mechanical repair skills with hands on experience • Ability to use hand and power tools to repair Tractor Trailers and other equipment • Ability to follow directions • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Analytical and problem-solving skills along with pays a high attention to detail • Experience repairing heavy equipment • Proficient working on a Diesel engine Diesel Mechanic Main Responsibilities: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions • Assists in handling maintenance and repair of all vehicles including but not limited to tractors, trailers, tow motors, trucks, vans, and heavy equipment (such as backhoes, skid steers, etc.) • Maintains an inventory of parts and supplies to perform duties. • Responsible for ordering parts and obtaining pricing for all repairs. Provides a cost analysis to Maintenance Manager for large purchases and repairs. • Experienced performing federal DOT inspection with the ability to become DOT Certified • Follow the vehicle preventative maintenance program and perform repairs &maintenance, and document. • Manages, maintains and records all required DOT files including but not limited to inspection dates and inspection details. • Performs other job-related duties assigned Working Conditions and Physical Demands: • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk, see or hear • May be subject to heat and cold stress environments, both inside and outside • May be exposed to noise • Climb stairs and scaffolding and works at heights. • The worker may be exposed to hazards such as moving vehicles, moving mechanical parts • Must bring in own tools Interested and qualified candidates for the Diesel Mechanic opening should submit their resume for immediate consideration.
