Description

Moody was surrendered to us by our veterinarian on 3/25/21 after his previous owner was unable to provide further care. It sounds like he had a difficult past--he had been owned by at least 2 other people, and at the first house he was not being kept properly and was not eating, urinating or defecating normally. He also had a severely disfigured right eye due to someone trying to forcibly trying to remove a stuck eyecap. Moody came to us bloated and with a deformed right eye. With proper hydration and humidity, he has returned to normal bathroom habits but does have a swollen area right before his cloaca. He has been to the veterinarian, who believes this is muscle wall atrophy due to chronic constipation previously. It does not affect him at all. While we thought he might be blind in his affected eye, his right eye has improved significantly and is almost completely back to normal! We were very surprised by this but it is a great sign. Moody is a little head shy, which is likely due to his previous owner severely injuring his eye. He does not try to bite, but will jerk his head away if you touch his face. He is a sweet snake though who has never missed a frozen/thawed meal for us, and we would love to see him finally find a permanent home. His adoption fee is $40. PLEASE READ If you are interested in adopting Moody, you need to fill out an application at www.bewildnc.org/apply. Read the application carefully and answer the questions thoroughly.
