Treat Jar Painting and Dog Training Presentation
Join us for an inspiring educational evening and demonstration by Marjorie Geiger, Author and Professional Dog Trainer. We will have fun painting a treat jar for your favorite Fido while hearing from Marjorie about troublesome dog training areas and ways to improve your relationship with your pooch.
Marjorie is a published, author who writes the Bernese Mountain Dog column for the AKC Gazette, having recently published A Dog's View of Dog Training
"Growing up on a farm in rural Michigan gave me an early start on animal relationships. I have always loved training and being with cats, horses and dogs. I also grew up playing the guitar and violin. I have worked in a dance studio, and was a cheerleading coach. All of these activities come together in canine freestyle. I love the movement and excitement of a working partnership. Few things are more pleasing to my eye and heart than a team that dances with flow. I am a judge in the World Canine Freestyle Organization. I am an AKC evaluator for Canine Good Citizen, Tricks, Farm Dog and Attitude Temperament
Training is a fun and creative pursuit.
Attending seminars keeps me learning tactics and strategies. I have been a competent trainer (horses, dogs, cats) for thirty years. However my greatest growth, success and satisfaction has come in the last year, since I was introduced to clicker training. Clicker has allowed my dogs learning abilities to grow, and our partnership has flourished. With the dogs I participate in obedience, rally, carting, nosework, agility, barn hunt, freestyle, and conformation.
