Description
Join CGB and Southeast Healthcare as we assemble backpacks to be distributed to the local homeless community What: Southeast Healthcare received a grant last year to make 3,000 vinyl backpacks and distribute them to the homeless in the Columbus Franklin County community. They are about 75% done with assembling the bags (about 20 items each!) and could use help with assembling the remaining bags. When: Monday, June 21, 3 PM - 5 PM Event Leaders: [email protected] Where: Southeast Healthcare, 16 W. Long St. Columbus, OH 43215 COVID-19 Precautions: All Columbus Gives Back volunteers are required to wear face masks and observe social distancing for all indoor volunteer events. Volunteers who are sick, especially with fever or any number of Covid-19 symptoms, should stay home. We will follow whatever safety policy our nonprofit partners have in addition to the safety precautions listed above. Any volunteers determined to neglect these precautions and put other volunteers or the people we serve at risk will be dismissed from the event. If you were exposed before or test positive after having participated in a CGB event, please contact the event leader or reach out to [email protected] so that we can best support contact tracing efforts. About Southeast Healthcare: Southeast Healthcare, a comprehensive provider of community mental health, primary care, dental, alcohol and drug, vocational, housing and homeless services, began its operations in Franklin County (Columbus, Ohio) in 1978. Today, Southeast serves over 15,000 people in eight counties of Ohio. We are dedicated to providing affordable, quality programs and services, especially for people who need treatment and support to live healthier lives. About Columbus Gives Back: Columbus Gives Back coordinates group volunteer events with local non-profits, organizes philanthropic happy hours to raise support and awareness for our non-profit partners, and participates in other philanthropic events while emphasizing our social twist: to have fun with volunteers new and old during and after events in the hopes of creating a culture of community engagement amongst our target audience of young professionals. #SocialTwist: We have begun re-introducing social twists, where we invite volunteers to hang out with us after an event to have fun doing something local! As of May1st, outdoor social twists will be coordinated at the discretion of event leaders and volunteers. If you have questions or concerns, please contact your event leader or [email protected].
