Statement of Purpose: The Facilities Manager is responsible for maintaining the function and organization of the physical plant here at NEXUS Club New York. This manager is the team leader of those responsible for the day-to-day and routine upkeep of the club. They should serve the membership base by maintaining a well-stocked, attractive and sanitary facility, keeping the club running smoothly. Primary Duties: General upkeep of the club including, but not limited to: • Basic plumbing, painting and electrical repairs • Deep cleaning of spaces, following a predetermined schedule • Coordinating with outside vendors for more advanced repairs as necessary Hands-on leadership of the housekeeping team, while participating in the successful completion of their job duties. This includes, but is not limited to: • Cleaning and sanitizing bathroom, washroom, and shower facilities • Vacuuming and cleaning carpets and rugs • Sanitizing high-touch areas in member-facing spaces Hands-on leadership of the porter team, while participating in the successful completion of their job duties. This includes, but is not limited to: • Washing dishes, cutlery, and kitchen wares. • Sweeping and mopping floors throughout the club • Receiving product from outside vendors and installing and organizing these products throughout the club Managing inventory of cleaning and facility supplies. This includes: • Filling out Purchase Orders • Taking monthly inventory audits Relocating club furniture alone or with as team as business demands. Position Characteristics: The ideal Facilities Manager is clean, organized and task-oriented. They should have great attention to detail as it relates to the physical environment, and should be able to problem solve creatively. They should be a strong leader with a hands-on approach to management, while working alongside their team and demonstrating diligence at all time. Education and Experience: • 3-5 years of experience in a facilities role: custodial or janitorial included. • 1-2 years of experience in a management or supervisory role. • Willingness to work non-traditional business hours, including nights, weekends and holidays. • Good communication skills: both written and verbal. • Discretion and poise in the face of high stress and dynamic situations. • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment. Other: • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and stand for long periods of time. • Ability to climb ladders. • Ability to bend at the waist and knee. Sitting, kneeling and crouching as the job may require. • Comfort using solvents, cleaning fluids and other chemicals in accordance with OSHA standards.
