Two Standard Poodles

Description

The short version of this story is that we have two standard poodles who need a home better suited for them. Male, around age 7 (rescue), and AKC papered female (age 4 or 5) are best friends and would be happiest to stay together. Male is available, or pair together. Need a fenced yard and people that are home a lot. She is a wanderer, and he is anxious when his people are gone. Both are fine with kids, but shy. Male is protective of kids. He is a guard dog. Long story: I was duped by what I think was a backyard breeder, and told male was a much different dog than he is. I brought him home seven years ago and realized he was a mess. He was afraid of us, our other standard poodle, and we had to hire a dog trainer to come help. I didn’t think he was able to rehabilitate. He did well with our standard who was also a rescue, and she was calm and helped him. She died, and we got an AKC puppy who picked up all of his weird traits. She is a happy girl, but she is a little shy. He is now very invested in humans and seeks affection. We are busy, loud, and gone too much, and he has started showing distress when we are gone. They would do well with a quiet house with someone who is home a lot. We live in the country so they aren’t leash trained. Someone who takes them needs to be familiar with poodles or have a lot of time to invest in these two sweeties. Both fixed. Rehoming fee applies. No shipping these pups. You must meet them. Both easy to groom.
